AJ Foyt Racing’s Year-Round Commitment to Veterans

AJ Foyt Racing’s partnership with Homes For Our Troops started in 2022 as a fundraising campaign to build specially adapted homes for severely injured post-9/11 veterans. They’ve recently announced expanding the limited Indy 500-week livery into a full-season campaign. The season-long presence turns every race into an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for veterans who need specially adapted homes.

“I’m incredibly excited that Homes For Our Troops will be on the 14 car for the full season, especially as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday,” Ferrucci said. “It’s a huge deal, not just for the team and myself, but to drive a car in the American flag livery all year long is an honor and a privilege. We’re committed to raising awareness and money, lots of it, for our severely injured post-9/11 veterans, who’ve sacrificed so much for this country to protect the freedoms we enjoy.”

Santino Ferrucci has spent the past three Indianapolis 500s taking those veterans around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway at pace, finding kindred spirits attracted to speed and adrenaline. He meets their wives, their kids, and their dogs and has connected with the families on a personal level. His grandfather was a World War II veteran, and Ferrucci grew up working around military personnel, so he identified with the cause and was honored to drive with the American Flag on his car.

That first campaign in 2022 raised over $2 million. By 2024, a single ten-day push brought in more than $5 million. Four years, nearly $15 million raised. The numbers translate directly into construction resources. The organization builds specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 veterans who’ve sustained multiple limb amputations, paralysis, blindness, severe burns, or traumatic brain injury. Each home is 2,800 square feet with more than 40 adaptations designed to restore freedom and independence. Since 2004, HFOT has completed over 420 homes.

Diane Hendricks, who co-founded ABC Supply, spearheaded the original marketing campaign built around a matching pledge: ABC Supply would match all donations to Homes For Our Troops up to $1 million during the ten days leading up to the Indianapolis 500, doubling every dollar donated and creating urgency around the fundraising window. Now her other companies are taking the partnership further. Hendricks Commercial Properties and Geronimo Hospitality Group, both part of Hendricks Holding Co. along with ABC Supply, are stepping in as the team’s new primary sponsors for 2026.

Larry Foyt, team president, described the expansion as recognition of what the partnership has become:

“What an amazing program,” he said. “We couldn’t be prouder to continue our long relationship with the Hendricks family as well as continuing the inspiring experience of working with Homes For Our Troops. I can’t say enough about how much Diane Hendricks and her daughter Konya have supported our team and INDYCAR over the years. It will be an honor to represent their hospitality and commercial properties brands.”

The 2026 IndyCar season starts March 1 at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. Ferrucci returns to AJ Foyt Racing for his fourth season, bringing with him a track record of six consecutive top-ten finishes at the Indianapolis 500, including a third-place finish in 2023.
